Dr. Rock

Dr. Rock was born LaMont C. Smith in Baltimore. He later was labeled with the names: LaMont Charles Roosevelt Maverick Jones Smith. His musical interest started in his teens after being motivated to learn guitar by his cousin Andre Dry.

Dr Rock played in a few heavy metal and R & B bands such as Blood and Amanda Sweet. He put his musical career on hold to study biochemistry at UMBC. He then went on to get a degree in Pharmacy, and then one in Medicine. He now works as an intensivist at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He also has a faculty appointment as a surgical intensivist and traumatologist at world the renown R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care unit at the University of Maryland Medical system.

One day while running to cash a small check at a corner store, be became instantly frustrated with having to wait for the line of women who were playing lottery tickets before him and exclaimed to himself in frustration: "These midday lotto bitches!!" He was glad he didn't say that out loud, or he might have gotten killed. It did occur to him that would be a great name for a band.  He developed a gimmick for playing solo, but advertising himself as a band, i.e. Dr Rock and the Midday Lotto Bitches.

Those early shows were at Patrick's of Pratt Street. One day, a regular, Erin decided she wanted to be a MLB, then Colleen followed, then JoJo, then Chris, and it began to grow with women wanting to be MLBs. They became devoted followers and supporters and came to every show, started the party, and made the show. There are now nine MLBs, with women asking to join frequently, but they have to be screened by the members in place. The only requirement is to come out and party frequently. Needless to say, he has developed a strong friendship with all of the MLBs.

Chris

Chris But you can call her Mrs. Dr. Rock. The first, most loyal and utterly faithful MLB. Head (but not President) of the Dr. Rock Fan Club. If she's not shaking her tambourine or singing, you'll find her pretending to be the sound check girl. She has given birth to 4 dogs and 2 cats whom she loves dearly since none of them gave her stretch marks or stress incontinence. She's from New Orleans and works hard as an emergency room physician trying to support her artist husband who likes to live in a million dollar home. Hobbies: Other than being a Dr. Rock groupie include traveling. She will go anywhere anytime. So if anyone out there is looking for a travel buddy, just call Chris.

Vicki
Vicki has been married to her high school sweetheart Bernie since January 1994. They have 3 beautiful children: Brenden, Madilyn and Sophia. Vicki is a perdiem registered nurse at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Rock and Chris are Sophi's godparents.

Bernie and Vicki were the first ones (along with Chris) to see Dr. Rock's first performance at Patricks.

Lisa
Lisa was born and bred in Maryland. She is too old to be agreeable in giving out her actual age. Educated by life, she has learned enough to know better. She became an MLB, by just coming to support Dr. Rock. Though she does NOT sing, she will dance and her job has become to make new people at a Dr. Rock show have such a good time they want to come back for the next one. In general she is fun loving, adventerous and sarcastic. Her philosophy is, "At the end of the day, tis better to say I am glad I did, then I wish I had, so avoid dull and live while you are alive"

Cheryl

Cheryl met Dr. Rock 6 years ago through her fellow MLB, Vicki. Many fond memories have been made since. Cheryl graduated from UMBC with aspirations of becoming a teacher, but after two years of working with 8th grade students, decided this was not her calling. She then went head strong into a paralegal position within a prominent
law firm. After two years of working for that firm, she teamed with an attorney to assist in managing and building his own firm. The venture has been successful, and she enjoys her work immensely. Recently, Cheryl earned her real estate license, so if you need to buy or sell, she is your girl!!

Known for her ability to have a good time and lack of humility, Cheryl is always prepared to sing and dance the night away with Dr. Rock and her fellow MLBs. This MLB is a lifer...she will make it to every show if not in body, in spirit!"

Colleen
Colleen was born in Washington D.C., and grew up in Boonsboro, Maryland. Colleen escaped Western Maryland to attend college in of all places - Iowa at Cornell College where she had a dual major in Political Science and Spanish with a dual minor in Latin American Studiesand Economics. Shortly after college, Colleen worked with disabled adults until she realized that she was tired or living at home and still not being ableto pay her student
loans. She then began working at Hood College where she also received her MBA. Colleen later pursued her lifelong dream to become an attorney and graduated from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America in Washington DC. When she finally decided she had enough school, Colleen moved to Baltimore in 2001, where she lives with her husband, David, and their two dogs, Maggie Moo and O'Connor. Colleen met Rock and Chris (and many of the other MLB's) at Patrick's of Pratt Street, where she became a regular customer at
Thursday night performances and where after too many drinks one night began singing as a MLB and convinced Rock to introduce one of her favorite songs into his routine, "Into Your Arms" by the Lemonheads. Thursday Rock & MLB nights are no longer held at Patrick's, but whenever her schedule permits, she travels with the group to lend her support, although it isn't nearly as often as she would like. She works as a corporate attorney in her day job at the law firm, Miles & Stockbridge P.C. In her spare time, Colleen sings along with the radio as practice, tries to find as many opportunities as possible to laugh, spends time with her dogs, David and their families and friends (not necessarily in that order), and attends as many Orioles games as possible.
